· Black Ash: close/straight grained ,course/uniform texture, alternative to northern red oak, heartwood moderately dark grayish brown, sapwood lighter in color; special order quarter-sawn
· Aspen: fine/uniform texture, tight/straight grain, heartwood light brown, sapwood white; special order spalted, curly
· Basswood: the vest in the USA, very white, no work tracks, very little fleck, low density, straight grain, fine uniform texture, heartwood creamy white to brownish, sapwood whitest in world, medium luster
· White Birch: high-quality, 70-year old trees with thick and pliable bark, very little fleck, dense, close grain, heartwood pale brown, sapwood creamy white; special order in spalted
· White Cedar: light color, easily worked, no sap stains, close grain, fine/uniform texture, highly moisture/decay resistant, heartwood light brown, sapwood creamy white
· Hard Maple: straight grain, fine/uniform texture, heartwood light reddish-brown tinge, sapwood white with reddish tinge; special order in brown, spalted, birdseye, curly
